Jessica Hische Osaka Typography

This was part of a type conference poster project in my Typography class where I chose Jessica Hische to be the keynote speaker at my type conference in Osaka, Japan that I developed for the project. Working in Adobe Illustrator—for this bit of typography, I started with a font called LiebeGerda that matched the look of what I was going for. I then entered my text, typing on a circular path. I used the bold and thin versions of the font for contrast. Once I had the text and layout how I wanted it, using a brush that had a similar texture to the font, I added swashes and flourishes that fit nicely in the composition while also still looking as natural as I could make it.
