Sequence Photography - Moving the Weasel
This was a project in my photography class. The goal of the project was to essentially tell a story in a sequence of photographs to feel like a movie but with only still images. The project was never intended to be a stop motion animation; there was no animation, just individual still images being shown, one after the other in a sequence.
I watched the French film La Jetée to further understand the concept of the project, and it served as strong inspiration for me for this project of mine. I added sound and voiceover to the photographs I took to further the project feeling like watching a short film. For the story I told in this project, I took photographs of my brother Matt moving a vehicle, called the Weasel, he had recently purchased to his personal shop. The project also involves discussing how working on machines and vehicles is a big part of my family. It worked out well for the project, since there was a clear beginning, middle, and end.
