Chocolate Bar Packaging

This was a logotype project in my typography class. For this project, the assignment was to create a logotype utilizing a word (real or made up) for designing some candy packaging. First, I chose the type of candy that I would focus on. I researched many aspects of that candy to learn about its ingredients, its cultural significance, its already existing trends in packaging design, etc. Next, I started looking at and exploring typefaces that I would utilize as a starting point for the text of my logotype I would design. Once some typefaces were decided on, I started working on modifying them so that they would better support my communication goal for this project. Once the final logotype was designed, I gathered some elements, color palettes, primary and secondary fonts, patterns, visual elements, etc. to create a visual identity for my candy. Once that was complete, it was time to apply the logotype and various visual identity elements to my candy packaging design.
